SyncMed is a medical education platform only. Nothing on this website or delivered through SyncMed tutorials constitutes medical advice, clinical guidance, diagnosis, or treatment.

Tutorial content is designed for educational purposes within the context of UK medical curricula. It should not be used as a substitute for professional medical judgement, clinical guidelines, or direct patient care decisions. If you are a patient seeking medical advice, please consult your GP or an appropriate healthcare professional.

Doctors teaching on SyncMed do so in an educational capacity. Their participation does not create a doctor-patient relationship with any student or user of the Platform.

2. Not a Healthcare Provider

SyncMed is not a healthcare provider. We are not registered with or regulated by the Care Quality Commission (CQC), the General Medical Council (GMC), or any other healthcare regulatory body.

We facilitate peer-to-peer medical education between verified doctors and medical students. We do not deliver clinical services, prescribe medication, or provide any form of healthcare.

3. No Guarantee of Exam Success

Participation in SyncMed tutorials does not guarantee success in any examination, assessment, or professional evaluation, including but not limited to:

• The United Kingdom Medical Licensing Assessment (UKMLA)
• Objective Structured Clinical Examinations (OSCEs)
• Membership of the Royal Colleges of Physicians (MRCP) or any Royal College examination
• Medical school written or clinical assessments
• Foundation Programme applications (UKFPO)
• Specialty training applications and interviews
• Any other postgraduate medical examination or assessment

Tutorial content is supplementary to, not a replacement for, your formal medical education, clinical placements, and independent study.

4. Tutorial Content Accuracy

While we verify that all doctors on SyncMed hold current GMC registration, we do not independently verify the accuracy, completeness, or currency of the educational content they deliver.

Medical knowledge evolves rapidly. Information shared in tutorials may become outdated as new evidence, guidelines, or clinical practices emerge. Students should always cross-reference tutorial content with current, authoritative sources such as NICE guidelines, BNF, BMJ Best Practice, and their medical school curricula.

Doctors are expected to deliver evidence-based, curriculum-aligned content, but SyncMed does not review or approve individual tutorial materials before delivery.

5. Doctor Credential Verification

SyncMed verifies that doctors hold current GMC registration at the time of account creation and conducts periodic re-verification checks. However:

• GMC registration confirms a doctor's licence to practise; it does not certify teaching ability, subject expertise, or pedagogical skill
• SyncMed does not verify a doctor's clinical competence, specialty qualifications, or seniority beyond what is stated on the GMC register
• Verification is based on information available from the GMC register at the time of checking and may not reflect changes that occur between checks
• SyncMed is not responsible for any inaccuracies in a doctor's self-reported profile information (such as specialty, grade, or biography) beyond what is verifiable through the GMC register

6. Tutorial Availability

SyncMed does not guarantee the availability of tutorials, specific doctors, specific topics, or particular time slots at any given time.

Tutorial schedules depend on doctor availability and are subject to change or cancellation without notice. Doctors volunteer their time and may need to cancel tutorials due to clinical commitments, rota changes, or personal circumstances.

SyncMed will make reasonable efforts to notify registered students of cancellations, but cannot guarantee advance notice in all cases.

7. Portfolio Evidence

SyncMed provides tutorial attendance records and teaching logs that doctors may use as evidence of teaching activity for training applications, annual appraisals, revalidation, and CPD portfolios.

However, SyncMed does not guarantee that any third party will accept SyncMed records as valid evidence. This includes, but is not limited to:

• The General Medical Council (GMC)
• Royal Colleges (RCP, RCS, RCGP, RCPsych, etc.)
• Health Education England (HEE) / NHS England Workforce, Training and Education
• Local education providers and deaneries
• NHS trusts and employers
• The UK Foundation Programme Office (UKFPO)

It is each doctor's responsibility to verify what evidence is accepted by their specific training programme, deanery, or employer before relying on SyncMed records.

8. Third-Party Content and Links

SyncMed may contain links to external websites, resources, and tools that are not owned or controlled by SyncMed. These may include links to the GMC register, NHS resources, medical education websites, and journal articles.

We do not endorse, guarantee, or assume responsibility for the accuracy, relevance, timeliness, or completeness of any third-party content. Accessing external links is at your own risk.

Tutorials are delivered via Microsoft Teams. Your use of Microsoft Teams is governed by Microsoft's own terms of service and privacy policy. SyncMed is not responsible for Microsoft Teams' performance, availability, or data handling practices.

9. Platform Availability

SyncMed is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. We do not guarantee that the Platform will be available at all times, uninterrupted, error-free, or free from viruses or other harmful components.

We may suspend, withdraw, or restrict the availability of all or any part of the Platform for business, operational, or technical reasons. We will try to give you reasonable notice of any planned suspension or withdrawal, but this is not always possible.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by the laws of England and Wales, SyncMed, its founders, directors, employees, agents, and tutors shall not be liable for any loss, damage, or injury arising from:

• Your reliance on any information or content provided through the Platform or tutorials
• Any clinical decisions made based on tutorial content
• The accuracy, completeness, or currency of any educational content delivered through tutorials
• Any failure or delay in providing tutorials or Platform services
• Any actions or omissions of other users, including doctors and students
• Your use of, or inability to use, the Platform

Nothing in this Disclaimer excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited under the laws of England and Wales.

11. Safeguarding

SyncMed takes safeguarding seriously. All doctors on the Platform are GMC-registered and are expected to uphold professional standards of conduct at all times.

If you have any safeguarding concerns about a tutorial, a doctor, or another user, please report them immediately to support@syncmed.co.uk. We will investigate all reports promptly and take appropriate action, which may include suspending accounts and reporting to relevant authorities.
