SyncMed started with a simple frustration: the best teaching in medicine happens informally, in corridors and common rooms. But if you're not in the right place at the right time, you miss out. We're fixing that.

SyncMed exists to make high-quality medical teaching free and accessible to every UK medical student. We connect GMC-verified NHS doctors with students for live, interactive tutorials aligned to the UKMLA curriculum and OSCE stations.
“Every student deserves access to great teaching — regardless of which hospital they're placed at.”
For doctors, we make it effortless to build a verified teaching portfolio. Every session generates a Teaching Evidence PDF with your GMC number, session details, student feedback scores, and a unique verification code, ready for your ePortfolio the same day.
While at medical school, Azizi noticed the same problem everywhere: keen students, willing doctors, but no easy way to connect them for teaching.
The first live tutorials ran with students and doctors across the South West. Feedback shaped every feature, from topic matching to the Teaching Evidence PDF.
First lines of code written for the full SyncMed platform. Early beta with doctors and students across London.
1,100+ students and doctors on the platform. Expanding across UK medical schools with GMC-verified tutors teaching cardiology, psychiatry, OSCE prep, and more.

Azizi is an NHS doctor based in London. During medical school at the University of Exeter, he experienced first-hand how inconsistent teaching access can be. Students at smaller district hospitals often missed out on the tutorials available at larger teaching centres.
He built SyncMed to level that playing field: a platform where any medical student can attend live, interactive tutorials from verified NHS doctors, at no cost.
Quality medical education shouldn’t be behind a paywall. SyncMed tutorials are currently free for all UK medical students, because access to great teaching shouldn’t depend on which hospital you’re placed at.
Every doctor is checked against the GMC register. Every session is rated anonymously by students. Quality isn't a marketing claim; it's built into the platform.
Near-peer learning means you're taught by junior doctors who recently sat the same exams. They remember what's hard, what examiners look for, and how to explain it clearly. Research shows this is one of the most effective ways to learn.
